Day 18

Good morning Jesus. I slept well last night. However, I have never been so frickin' itchy in my life. My whole body is one big itch.(No running water, or clean water to wash with. I would go in the ocean, and then sweat the rest of the day in the equatorial heat. Sleep time was no better. Sweat was dripping at all times. All of these factors plus a horrendous mosquito population add up to a whole lot of frickin' itchiness.) Oh well, it could be worse. I mean, I am in Indonesia. And I am in the middle of the biggest adventure of my life thus far. And I do find myself in the hands of my Creator. And I am falling more and more in love with Jesus every day. You are amazing Lord. I love you Jesus.

Now for the details of day 17. I got up, and was going down to the beach with Qisa when his mom showed me her hand. She had been bitten by a snake twice during the night. Her hand was very swollen, so instead of going surfing I offered to take them to the hospital in town. First we went up to the Catholic church where Thoma and Erwin were working, to see if the doctor's could help. The American doctor's were leaving, and they had reopened the local hospital. Apparently they have given them a lot of new medicine, and some very good Indonesian doctors are working there.

Before we went there, I took a few minutes to go and see Thoma and Erwin. They have seen some crazy stuff over the past few days. Life changing stuff. I pray that they would come to know you through their experience here. I pray that you would speak to them continuously, and woo them to yourself. They are great guys, and I pray that our paths might cross again. I pray that our friendship would be life-long. They are leaving today, and I pray that you would be with them on their journey. Thank you Jesus for letting us meet, and allowing us to become friends. Thank you Jesus.

So after that Qisa and I took his mother to the local hospital. We were in and out fairly quicky. We left and took a bus back to the village.

After lunch we headed down to the beach for a surf. First we put on my deck pad with some crazy glue that I bought in the village. I had to pray that it would stick because that glue didn't cover much surface area, and I really didn't think it was gonna stay. I prayed, and you came through. Thank you Jesus. That board is great for good size, fast waves. I love it for when it's bigger. I hope to take it with me to Mauritius. I pray that I would be allowed to take it to Mauritius. We'll see.

Anyway, the waves were fun and Qisa had a blast. I gave him my rear K-fin, and apparently it works great for him. I was kind of wishing I had it since the waves were a bit smaller, but that's ok. I'm glad he's enjoying it.

After surfing we went up on the beach and said goodbye to Thoma and Erwin. Then we came back to the village, and I slept early.
