Day 6 cont.

He drove me to Sibolga. As soon as I got there, a guy named Dame took me under his wing. The ferry was leaving in about 45 minutes. In that time he took me to get a boat ticket, then to get food, then to use the internet, then to buy a better mosquito net, then to an atm, then back to the harbor to get on the ferry. All of this was in 45 minutes. The transport this time was a motor bike with an enclosed side-car. If it wasn't for him, I would never have been able to do even one of those things in the amount of time that I had. Go God.

He made sure that I got on the ferry ok, and actually got me a cabin. Turns out the same guys that I rode with from Medan were in my cabin. Funny how that works. I got to sleep on the ferry. It left at 8:00 pm, and arrived in Nias around 5:00am. I had some vivid dreams, and I slept so soundly. My bed was a flat board. I used one towel to lay on, and one for a pillow.

I followed the same two guys from Medan to another mini-bus. This one was going to Teluk-Dalam(in the south of Nias. The ferry landed in the north in a city called Gunung-Sitoli.)

As I was waiting, I saw a white guy walk past. The first that I had seen since I arrived in Medan. I got out of the van and went to talk to him. His name is Vince, he's from Canada, and we are now roommates in Sorake.

So I took my stuff out of the 1st van, and I decided to jump in the van with him. We crammed 11 people in the van, and one guy held on to the back... outside the car! The same 3 songs blasted out of the kicker in the back. The road was ridiculous. It was so rocky, and the driver was bombing down the road. It was so ruff in fact, that 3 of the bolts broke off the right front wheel. We broke down about 20 minutes from our destination. We waited for a long time, while the driver tried to fix his wheel. It wasn't happening, so finally the guy went into town and got two guys on motor bikes to take Vince and I to Sorake Beach. I had two backpacks and a camera bag. Vince had a big backpack and a surfboard bag. I swear they can take anything on a motor bike. 4 people on one bike is not uncommon.

Somehow we made it here, to this awesome bungalo on the beach. It costs 10,000 Rupies per night, which is about $1. This is ridiculous.

Thank you Jesus. I would never have made it here if you hadn't carried me. I don't know why I'm here anymore. I'm tired, and I have questions that I can't put into words. Please start to answer them. More importantly, give me a deeper revelation of your love. I want to seek you above all else. Thank you Jesus.

Amen
